South-South Solutions

The 30 experiences of different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, selected by the panel of experts and the consulting committee of the Fair, will have a special exhibition space in the event. The exhibition South-South Solutions will give participants a general notion of the initiatives as a group and provide basic information about each experience. The exhibition will be organized according to the four thematic areas of the event:

  • Social programs and social protection systems.
  • Fiscal policies to promote equity and social investment.
  • Participation, inclusion and public policies.
  • Environment and disaster risk reduction.

Concurrently, in a different area, Panama will also have an exhibition Panama: the Country, in which it will showcase not only South-South Cooperation experiences but also other types of national projects that have had a great impact, such as the Sustainable Administration of Panama Canal Basin.

To this group of experiences, relevant programs and projects lead by agencies of the United Nations System, such as the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO), World Food Program (WPF), United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will be added.

All of the different exhibitions will be open to the public throughout the duration of the Fair, in other words, May 8-10, 2012.
